Improvements Already

So I went in to the doctor for my final Pre-Op physical.
Got hooked up to an EKG and they found out that my heart works.

Talked to the doctor.

I will stop all my meds on the morning of the surgery and then not start them back up until I meet with her on the 24th.
She will decide at that point what I should pick back up on and what to hold off on.
I do know that she wants me to stop taking Gemfibrizol after surgery.

I got my blood tests back.

Everything came back good except my A1c which is still at 7.0 where 6.4 is top of ideal.
That is the lowest on any test since 2016 tho so I am happy.
I know it will go down after surgery too.

My triglycerides are at the lowest they have been since 2016 too.
Still too high, 276, but they have been too high for as long as the tests go back on Allina Health page.
My LDL is only 67 but my HDL is only 29.
That should go up as I can exercise more.
My overall cholesterol is down to 151 so as I can get my triglycerides more under control it will come down more.
The formula for overall cholesterol is HDL + LDL + (Triglycerides/5) so 67 + 29 + 276/5 = 151.2.
Getting my triglycerides down to under 200 and not changing any of the other numbers would get me down to 125.

The biggest news, which I am burying this far in, because I am a putz, is my weight.
When I went in on May 31 for my final appointment with Dr Dock for my surgery approval, I weight 373.9 lbs.
When I went in this morning, I was 353.0 lbs.
That is over 20 lbs loss in 33 days.
I just have to make sure that I stay active or my body will shut down to starvation mode.
With the weather it has been difficult but I have been getting in some walking.
Even to the point of just walking in place for 5 minutes at a time at home.

I have been super hungry today but this is the first day that I have had to deal with a lot of hunger pangs.
My meal plan has basically been, 3 protein drinks and 3 snacks.
The snacks are 1/2 cup of cottage cheese or no sugar added apple sauce (not something I really like) or yogurt (Dannon Triple Zero) or tomato soup (I do V8 which is better for me and Nurse approved).
I switched from 4% fat to 1% fat cottage cheese.
I will go back to the 4% which I think will make a big difference and the nurse said it was ok.
I can have unlimited clear liquid so have been doing chix broth but don't want to do too much due to how much salt there is in it.
Lots of crystal light tho.
And yes, several times a night I am up to pee.

Pics were taken on Sunday.

Along with measurements.
Lost a couple inches, I think, off my waist, or we measured at a different spot.
We designated spots this time so measurements should be consistant after this.

I need to find a body fat measuring tool.
Either a scale which I don't like or a hand held.
But I need weight to do fat percentage anyway.
Something to think about.

Over all a good set of numbers and check up.
