Got Pulled From The List

When I started out on my ruck this morning, I planned on going short since this was Wednesday.
Wednesday is normally a "rest" day so just 1 mile so I can do legs tomorrow.
Then I remembered that tomorrow morning early I will be donating blood and then heading out.

Ended up doing 3.25 with 35 pounds in the pack.
Little bit slower since I was doing Pokemon Go and took 5 gyms.
But it was fun to do and not really worried about pushing speed every day.

Couple cool pics from the walk.
Can definitely tell the wind was up which was an issue in and of itself since it could get chilly at times.

Now to the big news more based on the title of this blog.
I went in yesterday to have blood drawn and tested for my doctor appointment today.
The results were awesome.

Officially, my doctor has taken insulin off my med list.
I am no longer considered diabetic.
9 months after my weight loss surgery I am not only on Victoza (which I will reduce slowly), pravistatin (which I will stay on), and testosterone (which I will always be on).
Lots of vitamins obviously but am off just about everything that I could even potentially be taken off of.

Yeah, I am a bit psyched about this.

BTW, if you are a co-worker, please don't tell others about this.
I want to announce it at BRP next week.

I am going to include this section about the AFSP walk on most every post I do I think.
I really want to raise the money for it.

My big charity event this year will be the AFSP Out of the Darkness walk in September.

I am going to carry 22lbs in my back pack for the 22 Veterans that suicide every day.
I will carry the weight to represent the weight that those thinking about suicide carry EVERY DAY.
If I reach $250 in donations I will double that to 44lbs.

If I reach my goal of $500 in donations, I will carry the 44lbs in my bag AND 2 10lb kettle bells the entire way.

I have close friends that have attempted suicide.
I have talked to people that have been able to tell me what a gun feels like in their mouth when they pulled the trigger to practice for their suicide.
I have seen the scars on their arms where they cut themselves.
I have seen the effects of their attempts on their friends and family.
